There was a mouse who had to go on a long journey. She bought a car and started to drive. She drove and drove and drove until her car fell apart. So she bought roller skates, and rolled and rolled and rolled until the wheels feel off. So she bought boots, and tramped and tramped and tramped until there were big holes in her boots. So she bought sneakers, and ran and ran and ran until the sneakers were all worn out. So she took the sneakers off and walked and walked and walked until her feet hurt so much that she could not go on. But at the side of the road, there was a person who was selling feet. So the mouse took off her old feet and put on new ones, and ran until she got where she needed to be. (Homage to Arnold Lobel)
